Technology and Robotics
Nearly 20% of people working in Scotland are engaged with some transport or logistics related activity. From managing supplies in the NHS to driving a bus most of these jobs could be replaced by robots over the next 30 years.
- Is this progress?
- What sort of future society do we want?
- How can we manage the employment and skills implications?
- Should Scots have a basic income to reflect the economic benefits of new technology?
- Are there any specific issues about robotoics that are relatively more important in a Scottish conext?
Please post comments related to automation of transport here. A review paper will be prepared when sufficient evidence is available on this topic.
