Making the Connections
Seminal reports seem to disappear from Government websites and one of the most seminal reports for transport for the last 30 years was prepared by the Cabinet Office Social Inclusion Unit reflecting on what needed to be done for transport to be better aligned with social policy design. The main conclusion in “Making the Connections” was that connectivity for all was best delivered through an accessibility planning process. These new processes have shaped the Government’s thinking on community planning, neighbourhood planning, levelling up and tackling exclusion since then.
