The £15M new station at Kintore in Aberdeenshire where trains commenced calling on 15 October 2020 combines the modern functionalities of a state-of-the-art unstaffed stopping place with two pairs of heritage features that recall its predecessor closed in 1964.
Traditional signs painted in the colours of the old BR Scottish Region now serve as running-in boards on both platforms, while two old benches taken into safe keeping at demolition now form the centre-pieces of a community garden.
